I haven't baked in a while...

...and man I have MISSED it.

Dinner for Two

Hello faithful followers. I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday as much as I have. I love Mondays; I get the day off to do whatever I want and I love that.
For those who don't know, I own my own little business called Dinner for Two. I teach people how to cook an easy three course meal (for two) and how to expound on the recipes that I give to them. I'm planning a "session" on the second Friday of October. If you live close to me and would be interested let me know so that I can send you an evite with more information.

So my mom is an amazing woman and extremely crafty. I'm sad that I am not her biological daughter and an in law because then I would have her creative genes running through me. But, I move on. She made these really cute hand towels for her mom and has some extra to give away so go HERE and so that you can check it out and try to win.

My eggs were going bad

So it's Saturday. Michael is taking two really essential classes this term and so he really wants to stay on top of things. Because of this he is spending his whole day at school. Usually I work on Saturdays but due to a happy accident I have a three day weekend. I knew I would be needing to keep myself busy without sitting in front of the TV. So, I made a list of things I needed to do. The number one thing I really needed to do; my eggs were minutes away from expiring so I needed to boil them so they would last longer. So, what's the best thing to make when you have boiled eggs...egg salad sandwich! I let my creativity run away with me and I out did myself. I present... the best egg salad sandwich ever!
So, I took some Tomato Basil bread from Panera and put a light layer of mayo with some cheese. I put the bread in the oven to broil until lightly toasted. I then added some bacon, avacado, and onion! I do have to say that it was the best egg salad I've ever eaten!

The need to CRAFT

So it's Labor Day and there is NOTHING going on. Michael had to go to school to work on his group project and has been gone for hours. So, after figuring out the menu for the week, making the list for the grocery items I need to pick up for Mike coming into town, and cleaning I decided that I would take a walk over to Michael's (the craft store). It's right across the street and always nice and relaxing to walk through. The original plan was to get a zipper for the skirt I'm going to make but got really distracted. I ended up spending about 45 minutes there and came up with a cute idea.

I had these supplies...

and came up with this!

I was hot...OK

So for the past month I've been in great debate about my hair for a couple of reasons.
Reason 1: My hair has been long for a while now and I'm ready for a change.
Reason 2: When I had diabetes and didn't know it I lost half of the hair on my head. Now that I'm healthy my hair started growing back....starting about December. Well all of those hairs were not as long as the rest of my hair and this created several problems.
Reason 3: I'm ready for it to be short but Michael likes it long.

Well after great debate and one hot day...

This was my hair before.

This is how much I cut off.

Tell me what you think.
